Love your (European) neighbour as yourself?! Theological reflections on the European elections

The elections to the European Parliament will take place from June 6 to 9, 2024. We will take a look at the Statement on European Elections by the Communion of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE) and reflect on what our vote might have to do with the commandment to love our neighbour.
How can we as Europeans live in reconciled diversity? Can we be "one body", as the apostle Paul describes the Christian community, in which no member can do without the others?
Europe is facing many crises these days: war, the rise of nationalism in many countries and still too much corruption. These will not be overcome by one country alone. By casting our vote as Christians, we are helping to shape European democracy.
